Kayleigh Brennan, Ph.D.

Dr. Kayleigh Brennan is a licensed psychologist who has spent several years working with students and families in the education and clinical settings. Kayleigh began her educational journey at Syracuse University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. From there, she attended the University of Denver and received her Master’s in Child, Family and School Psychology before obtaining her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Utah. Since then, she has enjoyed a myriad of roles and the flexibility her early career has brought. She has worked as a school psychologist, primarily at the elementary level, in addition to her clinical work. Most recently, Kayleigh has also returned to the U of U’s School Psychology program where she serves as their Clinical Training Director, overseeing specialist and doctoral students in their clinic practicum and foundational assessment courses.

Kayleigh has several years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in a variety of clinical, university, and school-based settings. She is well versed in the psychological assessment of autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and learning difficulties, among other neurodiverse traits. She has a special interest in understanding the “female phenotype” of autism, in addition to enhancing family-school partnerships. 

She also has extensive training in behavioral intervention and enjoys consulting with school and related treatment personnel. In her work Kayleigh prioritizes a collaborative approach, focusing on the whole individual. She strives to highlight clients’ strengths while understanding the myriad of factors that contribute to their challenges.

In her spare time, Kayleigh enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, and is an avid mountain biker and skier. You can most often find her recreating in the mountains or the desert with her husband and their hound dog, Hank.
