YOUTH HIKING GROUP
Why hiking groups?
Do you have a child who is looking for fun things to do with peers? Designed for youth with high functioning autism spectrum disorder and similar challenges, our Youth Hiking Group is a great way for youth to get outdoors and engage in healthy social interaction while practicing friendship building skills.
This group will be co-facilitated by Tracine Smoot, Licensed Psychologist, and Casey Candelaria, Behavior Coach. Tracine and Casey each love hiking and appreciate the benefits of being in the mountains. They each have years of experience working with students with all levels of ability and specialize in working with students with autism spectrum disorder as well as a broad range of other social, developmental, and learning problems.
Youth Hiking Group Details:
In this group, youth age 12-15 will start with a short activity designed to get to know each other. We will then hike, together, with a goal to hike further each week. We will finish up with a pizza dinner at the picnic site. Participants are welcome to bring their own food if they would like.
Coming Summer 2019!
Participation costs are $200 for each child.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the following fillable form and someone will be in touch!
